292 39 3697 » Parry, William (GBR) 30  01:26:28 01:25:15

Well done to everyone, especially Errol.

I think maybe its the first time I actually lost out on the nett times, as I was 27th over the line, but anyway a very good result for me.

I think because Kay and me were actually given a start in the Speed category our nett times have been set to our finish times - which is particularly unfair for Kay, as she would have had a similar nett time to Cat and Will.

I am very glad that I did not start in the Speed block, even though I had the option, as the standard was very high - there were a lot of internationals there, rather than the club-level people you get in the smaller German races.  I think that although the bar was set at a 1:20 best time for the speed block you really needed to be a 1:15 or better racer to benefit from a start in that block.

LOL Sparky, it's not a full marathon it's 23.6 mile this year.

But still well done all.

Despite the short distance, which I wasn't expecting and found a bit disappointing, it was a fast course. When you extrapolate the times to a full distance marathon, it's still faster than many courses.

I should also point out that Will ought to have been up there with with the 1h 14 minuters but very sweetly refused to leave me after my fall. Bless him.

There is a short write-up of the race
here in German.  See Google translate for dodgy English version.  Nice to see Errol get a mention.

It says that there was a strong international field in the Speed category, but its also interesting looking at the Fitness results that the first page is very international too.

Well done to everyone in both events. Some really strong performances.. Hard to imagine how I'm going to manage to stay on the back of 'group 2' if you all keep getting so much faster!
