I note in passing that Mr Pardijs seems to have the same "bowed across the chest" issue ... |

SBN is short for Skate Bond Nederland (dutch skating federating).
World on Wheels is the name for this series of national races.
Hoogeveen is the city where this particular race was held.
The races are criterium style; 30 minutes +3 laps in cat. C2/V(eteran)2, also 30 min. +3 for C1/V1, 40 min. +3 for B and 45min. +5 for A.
Categorie C2 is the lowest class for 18+ men. (the level of skating in this country, compared to the UK, is a good bit higher though , everyone learns how to <ice>skate as soon as they can walk)
So far I'm comfortably in number 2 position in the regional C2 ranking (could still make number 1 even...) and that will get me into cat. C1 for next year.
I'll probably never get any higher than C1.
Cat. B has some amazing skaters in it and a lot of the V1 veterans are not to be underestimated (some ex national champions).
In cat. A the level is very close to WIC level, there are always lots of top class international skaters (like; Wayne Begg, Yann Guyader, Alexis Contin, Cedric Michaud, Tristan Loy, Alain Gloor, Ronan Sanchez, Shinki Yamamoto and Roger Schneider, to name a few ).
Cheers,
Andy. |
