Weather in Bethnal Green is currently wet and miserable, but apparently it's drier further in.  I'm heading into town anyway, so unless the heavens open between now and two, I'll see whoever's there there

That was fun! I survived 2 hours in my new boots (well, apart from a sock blister and sore back) only to stack over a stupid buggy wheel that the parent didn't pull in enough to let me pass on the path in HP.

Pah.  I hope they were properly apologetic

Unlike the driver on Parliament Square that ran over my front wheel

Hey Dan, Sol - that's grim, are you both OK?

And secondly are your boots and frames still usable Dan?

Would take a lot more than that to put Dan and his boots out of action, LOL! Thanks, that was a stupendous skate. Circle line this way round is sooooo much better, all those who can't handle Kensington Church Street upwards are wimps  Smile Good mix of sprints and chilled skating, some sightseeing too. Roll on the next time - next bank hols is ages away Crying or Very sad

Simply amazed that it happened. As you said it was wet in East London (and didn't dry out) so I just assumed that it was off. Really wanted to skate yesterday. Annoyed that I missed what sounds like a great skate. Crying or Very sad

Ditto :(  And it doesn't look like tomorrow's skate is going to happen either!

No, it was on the approach to Parliament Square after we came off the Embankment, when I was filtering between two lanes.  In fairness I think I was in his blind spot at the time, and he must only have clipped the wheel briefly (maybe just the edge of the sidewall or something) or it would have been a lot worse.  But still, shook me up a bit.

Good skate otherwise.  Ken Church Street is shorter than I remember, though - we'll just have to do Pentonville Rise as well next time.

(My HRM peaked at 186 on the way up there and I still felt like I had a fair bit in reserve: I really ought to test my HRmax properly sometime instead of relying on 220-age)
