It was soooo good to see so many people turning up. Blue looks so good on the Podium when the sun made an appearance.
Having lots of skaters in Cat 2 allowed you to race tactically which is one of the very few times I have seen that. I'm not sure how much was worked out before hand but it did result in owning the podium. You put Birmingham and Raps to the sword. Excellent work!
Good to see Rio skating his little legs off too. Rio, you have these big bursts of speed to throw in when you need them. We are going to have to teach you when to use them so you can win more easily rather than needing to pull it out at then end but very well done.
Congrats to our Cat 1 podiums too.
It would be great to see if we can get those sort of numbers to other races but I think that is it for Tatem this year. The only remaining race in London is Hog Hill hosted by SWF in September. That's Raps 24 weekend so I won't be there but that is custom built for our club as it will be a road course. Suggest popping over there some time to check it out and perhaps do a training session there. |

There was some planning, but I don't think too much is needed, we are all of similar performance standard (though some have bigger tanks), all have some tactical nouse. The main thing I think is we we are not too fussed who wins along as it's one of us does, that helps alot. Keep it in a big group and defend the position.
We tried to work more in the 10K, but well, there are limits... |

Dear All
What a great day and some even better results.
I'll start with some thank you's as we had much help over the course of the day from LSST -
Thanks to Pamela & Natasha for the first aid cover, and the LSST first aid kit.
Thanks to Pamela and her Le Mans team for sweeping the track first thing.
Thanks to Fred for water carrying.
Thanks to all those who offered help, even though we didn't need it, it is much appreciated, and nice to have so many offers.
So that's a big thanks from everyone in the North London Club.
Now for the racing -
It's really refreshing to see you guys out in force and doing so well. It just goes to show that all of your hard work is paying off, and you should all get the confidence from that (even those who didn't race should now see what can be achieved).
It was good to see some really positive race planning, and you guys making the racing rather than just taking part. All of the podiums across the Cats that you raced in, are a direct reflection of that. Well done to every LSST skater, I'm really proud to have been a small part of helping you towards that.
My LSST skater of the day is Rio. Fantastic racing, especially as this is only his first season, with a handful of races under his belt. Great turn of speed, and kept cool enough to use his speed when need the most (in the last lap). Great stuff and well done ! |
