Another one close to home and NLRSSC are the only club putting on veterans races so those of us over 35 know we won't be racing any young guns. Okay the old guns can skate quite well too But there are less of them so if you fancy trying for a podium this is your chance. |

No it will be on 1st Jan 2007.
I am going to train a couple more times and make my decision. I think I am going to track race again for the first time in about 2 years. There will be 15 new officials by the time this race day occurs so my services may not be so much in demand. |

| Looks like the day after we get back from France, so I'm not too sure about this one, I'll have to have a look at the flights 'n stuff. |

I've mislaid one of my skate covers. Might have left it in Essen. Hope it turns up or my skates are possibly going to get VERY wet.
Don't know the numbers of registrants. I do know that Adrian is officating not racing so the Vets race is wide open....for those that can stay on their feet Could be another LSST 123 is none of the other old school turn up. It'd be nice to see the new suits on the podium. |

Skate covers found. It wasn't that wet except for the warm up. It rained quite a bit but the track continued to dry and after the first race there was plenty of traction. Wheel choice seemed quite important. I went with the sure worn Hyper+Gs and had no trouble except for starting in my first race.
Hardware on the day for Glenn, Ray and me. Okay so there were only three of us in the Veteran Men's race as Paul Murfin didn't turn up and Adrian was officiating. But Glenn and I scored in the Category races. Well only 3 in Glenn's catefgory too. Looking forward to the podium piccies Helen took and the group photo of the 4 of us in the new suits.
I have now gained the title I cast onto all the others of "child beater" I think I may have to consider a move up to category 2 now. Ace! I have never been that high before. |

Well done Rick - sweeping all before you
Good day's racing despite the wet weather.
A bit of comparative equipment testing has convinced me that 100mm is soo much faster for me than 84mm and that my old stock boots are not a patch on customs - I very nearly ordered a set of 3 point Apache's from Vinnie - I still might do so
I'll try to post Helen's pics on the site tonight - including the team looking resplendent if somewhat stretched in our new skinsuits! |

Well done guys.
I could've come and cheered you on being "local" to Tatem, but the weather meant we headed for Oxf st. for a bout of shopping... lol |

Was fantastic fun and great experience (made all the mistakes of a novice and more) despite the weather. I think I will really enjoy track skating when I get better at cross overs and going round the course.
Well done to Rick who really out did himself - especially in the last Cat 3 race where he steamed past a stream of young children.
