It wasn't when I did it 10 years ago. Don't know if the route is the same but back then we have a blistering first 20 miles or so drafting a tandem without much effort then they stopped as a rest point in the Fenns and we continued on to the coast where the wind was blowing the you slowed to a crawl. Once we turned down wind thing and back inland things improved but let nobody tell you that Norfolk is flat. It's a lie I tell you. I had my old trip logger on and had only just calibrated it. When the heavens opened it said I had done about 92 miles but the route turned out to be 108 miles and I was not sppropriately dressed for a drenching.
Anyway, hope you have a lovely time which we are in Germany recovering from Mittelrhein. |

Thanks for the encouragement Rick
Map of route here
1500 feet of climbing - so yes, not flat - but not too tough. Don't know about the wind tho |

| I'm thinking of staying in Norwich the night before ready for the early start. |

| We stayed overnight at the YHA. Quite a few other riders were there too and it wasn't far from the start/finish. I'd call it a nice warn up/down distance. |

I just checked the early weather forecasts for Norwich for Sunday. Currently it says HEAVY RAIN and MAX TEMP 10C.
Honestly.... I'm not so keen now!!
I really really don't fancy getting drenched for 100 miles that far away from home. |

Well that was fun - rained a bit, windy and lumpy round the coast brought my average speed down to 17.2mph.
Was at a refreshment stop with a Glendene friend when Steve came by - Chased him, caught him, lost him again.
The three of us cycled together for most of the time from the last refreshment stop.
Had two punctures just about 15 miles from the end - thanks for the help fixing them Steve - all in all a good day.
Now for Billericay next week! |

Indeed Ray: wet, windy but still fun. At least we got home under dry skies. Why couldn't it be the other way round though?
Shame I missed you. I realised at the start I didn't have your phone number in my mobile.
I did the 100m in 7h20m which is quite pleasing considering I'm not a strong rider at all. Might do it again (as long as Michael Fish promises for drier and warmer weather). |

That was a tough ride but in nicer conditions it would be an excellent route.
5h33m for the 100 which was pleasing, but my trainers still haven't dried out! |
