Can anyone let me know where the good speedskating retailers in Paris are. All i am looking for is shop name, street and if possible the nearest metro station.
I am heading there for Friday and Saturday... |

The only one I'd trust is Hawaii Surf in Ivry, outside Paris but still very reachable by the metro (the purple or pink line, station is "Mairie d'Ivry" I think - which means Ivry Town Hall btw). More details from their website.
If you're gonna buy stuff there don't forget your FISS card as they'll then give you their Club price (about 10% discount IIRC). Not bad... |

Directions from the Metro station:
- once outside the station, walk down (slight downhill) alongside a grim shopping centre [welcome to Paris suburbs!]
- turn left at the first set of lights (IIRC once again) at "Rue Casanova"
The shop is on your right hand side, about 5-7 mins walk from the lights.
The guy to speak to is "Guillaume" I think, provided he still works there. |

| Is that the one pretty near the rollers et coquillages start point? We're meeting Etienne and Erika in Paris, so I'm sure they can point us in a few directions too. I think I went to another one too - Ootini? |

Have been to Hawaii Surf - great shop although slightly dodgy area!
........ And I swear Ray owns every single speed-skate they carry |

The one near the Sunday skate start point is Nomades (there's another small one in the area: Vertical Line).
Ootini is on Avenue de la Republique (IIRC). From Bastoche, skate up Bd Beaumarchais up to Place Republique, turn right, the shop is on the left hand side 1/2 km up from the Place I think. Even if you get lost, you're bound to skate on lovely smooth tarmac anyway... |

| We made Hawaii Surf, Vertical Line and Nomades, where Hans got some new frames. Great prices. Thanks for the directions Christophe. |
