I use that Lunar set and I'm very happy with it. The rear light especially is VERY bright, you'll be seen from miles away. The front light is slightly less impressive but still very good (3 settings: normal, "extra bright", flashing) and can be a bit blinding for incoming traffic I've found... |

| Merten's recommendation is a good one, as are Hope Vision 1 and exposure joystick. |

Thanks for all the links
I've gone for a smart 35lux front light and their 0.5W rear, £35 from a fleabay shop.
Not as a bright as some, but a lot cheaper and more practicle for me. Good enough reviews, good battery life, front takes AAs which is a plus for me. |

I have these and prefer the Joystick over the Vision 1. I also have some Cateye front and rears, thanks to Mike
I'm thinking of getting the same one Pamela linked to, but waiting for hers to arrive first, and then let her pace me around Regents Park |

The joystick is also almost twice the price!!
My favourite lights are the two exposure front lights I have - a Joystick and a Maxx-D. Perfect for some of the dark country lanes I use going home. I also have some nice rear lights, an Exposure Redeye, perhaps the brightest rear light below a Dinotte, and an RSP Astrium, effectively two smart 1/2 watt rear LEDs. |

I found a UK place doing it for £80 under their own brand name.
Still too rich for me at the moment
Would be ince to see a comparison between that and the one that Merten uses, I did like the look of that too...
Wouldn't mind finding the led itself for sale somewhere though and putting mysoldering iron to good use...
I noticed how good your rear lights are Mike, that's one thing that made me think to get something better than my current little blinky things. |

A lot of what you pay for in an expensive light is not the LED itself but the reflector and other optics. There's more to lighting up the road than simply throwing lumens at it
That said, there are DIY lighting forums on the internet - start with http://www.candlepowerforums.com/ |

Not long now - it has been ordered
And, ahem, me pace you? Isn't that what is known as a cool down lap for you? |

Add this to it:

You should read the wiggle reviews though - main sticking point is the batteries that it takes (CR123A - same as HRM strappy things?), and that rechargeables don't fit so well.
Hope Vision 1s, whilst bulky, could be an option at that price range. I can lend you mind for you to play around with for a bit? |
