Glenn - yes
EdP - yes
George - yes
RichardH - maybe
Meet at: Southeastern corner of Regents Park (closest to Gt Portland Street and Regents Park tubes)
Time: 9.30am
Apologies for this really short notice -
It seems like EdP, Glenn and I are going to trial out the outer loop of Regents Park on skates tomorrow - but only if the conditions are dry.
We will train for about an hour.
If anybody else wants to join please feel free
PS You should be able to reach us on our mobiles in the morning.

| There is a chunk of it that isn't the smoothest of surfaces, skateable, but not enjoyable |

great the more the merrier. particularly at regents park skating in a line with several of us - should give us more more protection from the cyclists and cars.
Thanks for reminding Pamela I remember from when riding over it - though I am hoping that it will beat the present state of Hyde Park in terms of being able to skate continuously - without having to U-turn all the time

Matthew and I did this some time ago, and it was only a 100m distance, if that, I recall being difficult.
I think you'll find it's fine, and hopefully at that time of the morning, not so busy with cars. |

| It might be a bit hardcore... not much rest and it would be tough (not a bad thing) but try the inner loop. It's smoother if I recall. |

| The inner circle is smoother, I think it's 1km loop. |

I have never skated on the inner loop but if it's smoother then that would be ideal as there are no traffic lights and far fewer cyclists and cars. An on the junctions the cars are meant to give way to us anyways lol.
Well we'll report back on how we found it, if it ends up happening (fingers crossed for dryness!) |

George, why don't we meet on the inner loop then and assess it from there. I always thought it was rougher, but could be wrong. Like Ed, they smoothed the outer loop so there's really only a couple of 100 meters that's rough. The main issue with the outerloop is traffic - but I have skated it solo without too many problems and if you have a few of you skating in a line it won't be a problem at all.

I did quite a few sessions around Regents Park earlier this year on both the Inner and Outer circles, and I can assure you that the Inner Circle is *not* smoother than the outer - but it has low traffic, its wide and there are no junctions to stop for, so consequently its a fair bit safer.
If the conditions are good, with light traffic, good visibility and dry surfaces, then the Outer is the better choice. |

Don't be surprised if there are more cyclists in the inner loop as there are no traffic lights. I've seen a few people with time trial bikes in there in the past. |

The outer loop seems the go then; my experience is that it is fine to skate on.
