The fourth race of the French inline cup will be in Rennes (britanny) in less than two weeks time.
A few of us ar going to race there.
we are going to drive there on saturday stay in a cheap hotel, and come back on the sunday.
at the moment we have one space left in the car, so if you are interested in going just let us know
The cost will be around 30-35 £ more likely, and you will need to add the registration fees on top of that.
So far Hans, Tanya, Sol, Ghiz, myself are going there.
registration can be made throught sport-up.fr
The open race is a 30 km, the marathon will be 52.2 km and is part of the World inline cup.
if more people are interested do not hesitate we potentially can organise an other vehicle maybe, or plan for next year |

Just to let you know if we get the numbers we will hire a 7 seater MPV and the costs at the moment are looking more than what Fred posted.
It seems there are additional mileage charges and insurances for taking the car overseas (950mile round trip from Camberley). It will be more like £50pp with 7 people |

| Consulting my bank balance (and the race reports from last year) I think I'll give this one a miss. |

Not for the open race.. I spoke to the race director he said that you can register for the open on the day.
They will not let you race the FULL marathon anyway as you come under the Veterans category |

What, so now I'm V1 that means I can't do a full FIC marathon? That makes me feel better about the finish I got in Lille then. |

the category Veteran is racing in the open race.
the first 10 Veteran of the open have the choice at the end of the season to move up to the national category and race in the full marathon.
categories are set for the entire season. |

Great results for Sol and Tanya in the 30km open two LSST skaters in the top 5:
3 1:11:32 FINDLEY Solveig
5 1:14:50 GIBSON Tanya
Ghizlane came in 11th in a tough Women's marathon
The mens race was really tough high winds and heavy rain:
Hans came in 80th but looks like Fred was out of the race early - full stories undoubtedly to follow when they get home
Well done folks in the usual gruelling Rennes conditions |

I don't know how wet it was in London but Rennes was WET
Me and Tanya got away with just wet roads, no stuff falling from the sky, in the Open in the morning and it even dried out a bit by last 2 laps or so. Wasn't pleasant but at least for me it was another race experience.
Ghiz's race was mostly sunshine with a shower in the middle to make things more interesting.
Hans's and Fred's race started ok but then the heavens really opened and wind picked up too so Hans had to dodge those red and white plastic barrier things. It was galeforce winds, hail and rain . Just standing watching from under a shelter was horrible, brrrrrrr. Many people with ripped skinsuits and probably worse too
A massive thank you to Hans for the long long drive, specially on the way back, after having finished the really hard race.
I'm happy I've got another race experience under my collar and have learnt a few lessons.
Not the least of which is that Eurotunnel is CLOSED for maintenance after 10pm on Sundays! |
