I have decided to try to climb the galibier this year. I'll do it a week end in september, wonder if any one else would like to join me?

| Valmeinier is where several of us have been skiing/snowboarding so we're familiar with at least part of that climb. |

I failed
Miserable weather, rain and no visibility all the way up.
I did the first col (telegraph 1st cat 600->1700) but then while in Valoire, decided to call it a day as it wasn't fun to be all wet and cold with still 15km of climbing to do.
So its not a finished business, by a long way, but the season is now closing so might have to wait for next year to do it again. |

Sorry to hear about the trouble, and it shouldn't be seen as a failure.
So well done for sticking it out for as long as you did. |

After last year bad weather, I have that summit in my sight again, some date in September.
Just in case someone is interested, let me know your favorite date...
Bit of trivia, it's the 100th birthday of the tour de france climbing the galibier, in 1911 the stage was a whopping 330 km long! |
