We are planning on putting in a new order of RollX wheels in early September, with the hope to receive before Berlin. There were a selection of wheels missing from the order just received as the Xroad were not available at that time and they were short on the Xdual, so these will be included in the next order.

If anyone is interested in ordering any more wheels, please post below. If anyone has received less wheels than expected from the first order, and I haven't picked this up at the end of this post, please also post below.

Indoor Wheels:
- XBird Yellow /Orange, perfect for indoor, they have been tested by Fred and Rio, they offer exceptional grip indoor and are the ideal choice for training and ensuring you have all the grip you need

Outdoor Wheels:
- XDual , is a racing wheel, with dual band, this would be a high performance wheel, to be used outdoor (Racing/training)
- XRoad , (Racing/training) Single band wheel, perfect for training

There is a list of the entire range on the company website, but ask if you have any question.

September Order:

Glenn - 8 x Xroad 110mm & 8 x Xdual 110mm
Fred - 8 x Xroad 110mm & 6 x Xdual 110mm
Floju - 8 x Xroad 110mm
Amy - 8 x Xroad 110mm
Henrik - 8 x Xdual 110mm
Ed - 18 x Xdual 125mm
Lisa - 8 x Xbird Yellow 110mm & 8 x Xroad 100mm
Florian - 8 x Xroad 100mm & 8 x Xdual 100mm

Sorry Fred / Gill, I'd like to cancel this order (it was for Nic, David, and I). Owning a set already, I'd rather experiment with other wheels.

Feedback from David and I (we both pretty much thought the same things):
Pros:
- Much more London road friendly than the Matters. The hub makes for a more comfortable ride compared to the Matter wheels
- They are very grippy, so you don't have to worry about cornering traction (unsure about in the wet though). Again, much better in comparison to the Matter wheels where I was worried that I would slide on tight corners
- The wear rate is much better - the Matters lost their seam after 1 marathon at Lee Valley (smooth surface).
- David mentioned that there was good rebound (I have no clue!)

Cons:
- They feel very slow to skate on, and definitely more effort - high rolling resistance? I'm assuming that this is down to the compound, and where the grippy, longer wearing properties affect the roll

In terms of the indoor wheels, I'm very happy with the Orange xbirds, although I've only used them for one session. If they continue to last like that, then I will be very happy (the indoor MPC Black Magics don't feel as grippy as they once were).

I've also had limited use of the xdual wheels in 110mm/100mm combination and they felt like good wheels.
I'm not savvy enough to be able to tell the intricate differences between the mid to top end wheels, but I would say they'd be more than adequate to race on (especially if you're on a budget), and perfectly fine to train on - they are definitely much better than a lot of the basic / entry level stock wheels that tend to come with speedskates. As Fred said elsewhere, they represent good value for money.

Hi Fred, Curlie,

Hope you're doing well. Just checking if you had the chance to place the order in the end?

I was wondering if we can hope to receive them before Berlin or if I should find other wheels for the race Smile

Cheers,

Florian
