Update on transport to Lille.....
Have changed plans to leave on Saturday evening and return Sun evening...
Ed and Fred are coming along, but I have space in my car for two more people who wish to go to Lille (30km open or marathon) leaving London 18.00 hrs 13th May, returning from Lille 18.00hrs 14th May. Travelling cost will be £30 or less including shuttle and fuel.... let me know.
I've reserved a 3 berth room in Hotel Etap, Central Lille for Euros 40. |

I've got a lift already, but can I have one of those berths - or are they for Ed and Fred? |

I believe (hope) one is for me, not sure if Fred has opted for the third one - not sure if they do four berth rooms or even sneak you into the room?
In any case, I think that the rooms are reservable with a degree of cancellation period (without charge), perhaps speak to Alastair to find out more details...but you could reserve a room in the hope of finding a roomy? |

| The room I've booked at Etap Hotel, central Lille is for Ed, Fred and myself, but it's easy to reserve a room with possibility to cancel at no charge. |

Thanks for the link Alastair.
I've just booked a room for single occupancy; but if I read the info correctly it will take up to 3 people (for, I presume, a supplement) so if you are still looking Hans and Dan, it's a possibility. |

Since I seem to be able to last a whole skating afternoon in my speedskates, I'm already thinking ahead in wanting to race in them
I'm still getting used to skating on streets with them (or should I say the London streets), but going up and down Serpentine Road, as well as the path parallel to it was more than bearable.
So I was wondering what the "course" is like @ Lille. Are the roads pretty much smooth? |

I'm going to do it in my speed boots (just not quickly) would be good if the sock things were here before to stop the pain. |
