Go on William (William right?) - It'd be good to have someone my pace to go down with. |

it won't be much like Tatem because it's not a banked track, it's much more like a road circuit (with beautiful smooth tarmac)
You should go for it - it should be a good day. |

I'm kind've stuck atm, the pace and duration of 10k, and probably 5k too, seems almost certain to trigger my current breathing probs.
and probably a bit expensive for a paced training outing if I need to join FISS for it... ( Do you know the FISS and event costs? FISS website seems broken atm... )
Or you reckon they'll have some spare time for people to just skate around? Seems like a nice venue |

FISS is £10 for a day license or £37 for the year - not sure which I'll get. No idea how much the race costs, anyone? |

No problem accessing the link. Maybe a connection problem from your side. |

If you are entering this race please can you enter online, online entry closes 7 days before the race.
You can pay for your day licence on there as well, just put 1.6666 in the quantity.
It will cost more on the day to enter this race, plus it helps to know numbers before hand. |

Is much know about the venue?
I thought I'd read something somewhere, but can't find it now... |
venue is awesome. Pamela and I went to look at it as a possiblility for LIM, but decided that it wasn't appropirate for a marathon. The circuit can be split into a number of different loops, with the longest being 2.2km and having some amazing downhills. We just didn't feel the uphill would encourage anyone to actually take part!
Details for the cycle centre can be found here
http://www.vision-rcl.org.uk/redbridge_cycle_centre.html
The event on 5th September I think is just using the 1km loop at the bottom of the hill, so pretty much flat with some really nice corners. Assume there will be a number of different races depending on category, probably ranging from 500m to 10km, but I may be wrong. I think it's unlikey to be marathon distance because 42 laps could cause a bit of a lap counting nightmare |
I've raced there on bike once. It's a lovely circuit, really nice surface. Looonnnggggg donwhill with a fiendish uphill. But they won't be using that for the skate race. There is a switchback onthe bottom somewhere if I remember correctly but that's the only technical bit |
