If you want to see a good example of how to run a race meeting in a venue that's not Tatem or Brum this is the one to go to...well organised and good fun both times I've been. The surface is car park tarmac (Racing Snake describes it on the Bont Forum) which I would have thought you street skating officionados might be quite at home with, although not so easy for us lot!!

What are the distances (i.e. for cat 1)?
I guessed they're probably shown in the hyperlink that Peter posted above but my computer can't open the file for some reason

Dear Club 8th May 2008
The South Woodham Ferrers Club will be organizing a race event on Sunday 25th May 2008, at William De Ferrers Centre, South Woodham Ferrers (outdoor Track), starting at 12 noon.
The cost for all events is £10 per skater
Programme of events will be as follows:
Cat 1 - 10 laps, 15 laps & 25 laps + Devils
Cat 2 - 10 laps, 15 laps & 25 laps + Devils
Cat 3 - 8 laps, 10 laps & 20 laps + Devils
Cat 4 - 5 laps, 10 laps & 12 laps + Devils
Cat 5 - 5 laps, 8 laps & 10 laps + Devils
Cat 6 - 3 laps, 5 laps & 8 laps + Devils
We will also be putting on a fun event, if time allows, but this will be decided on the day.
ALL POSTAL ENTRIES TO BE SENT TO FISS HEAD OFFICE, TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE EVENT, OR VIA FISS WEBSITE NO LATER THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE EVENT.
Please could you pass this information on to all of your club members.
