As Dan knows, I've finally looked at my "characteristic" headset, by the looks fo things a year of unadjusted riding has borked it good and proper, it had got indexed or Brinelled (a noticable "notch" around straight ahead). After 2 trips to my LBS and fitting a new, flash headset which was the wrong stack hieght I put it all together 180degs round. Till I can get the right one.
Now my bike is so much more twitchy, it moves as you pedal and just feels like a different machine, not worse just strange, I hope I get used to it in a week or so. If I can hold less vauge lines round the bends I'll be a happy bunny though.
Next it's a new bottom bracket and new tyres. |

| 2 different headsets from the LBS and back to the old one... Which seems to be going okay now having moved all the cups out of line. |

New chain on (last one was v'ry worn by the looks of things) and new tyres on (required much changing of mudguards) bottom bracket has arrived from chain reaction so that can go on.
Almost ready for a long ride now. |
