Am going to do a training ride early tomorrow, not sure where yet but only criteria will be I MUST be back before 1pm to meet Emily at station, so plan to get started just after 8am.

Will do a quick search if anything is organised, if not will prob head either out East or out West depending on wind forecast (easy ride back Wink )

Watch this space.....

Was going to  do this Twickenham CC Sat morning ride but train times out there were a bit early!, so instead, just going to cycle out to Richmond, do a couple of laps and come home.
Text me if you fancy joining up anywhere

Worth keeping the route for future. It looks good.  Here

Very unlikely that I'll head out as I need to have a lie in or two before I return to work.

In the off-chance that I wake up early, what time were you planning on leaving home?

Yep, that's the one I went on with the TCC guys the other Sat. If you join them, they are FAST! 18mph avg.
I'm working tomorrow if you want to come and say hello

What a disaster that was! Basically met up with some of the Twick CC members (even had send off from Sol) managed to last all of 3km
Embarassed

These guys (after saying it was going to be very gently paced today) went off like whippets! They had dropped me in the first 300m and dropped the other 'non member' after 500m.

Didn't really matter whether this was a case of 'Mine's bigger than yours..' or simply that is their normal pace, either way there is no way I would have kept it up for 40m. Had they not stopped at the first roundabout after 3km, I def would never have set eyes on them again!

I thanked them and actually told them I would return when my fitness was up, which was greeted by 'Thats what they all say' which leads me to think this might not be the first time they have had this situation Wink

Oh well at least I had the ride back from Twickenham (at my pace!) and also after stopping and telling Sol, I think she is well chuffed that she has been with them and survived (also highly amused, I don't doubt!)

I guess I will learn from this that I should do more investigating before turning up on a ride as to exactly what pace it will be at. Its not good enough to simply do the math (i.e. Advertised Start 900 - Finish 1200, stop for cup of tea say 30m = 2.5 hrs for 40 miles = 16mph) Even Sols estination of 18mph was way short of what they actually did.

Right now I'm off to get some serious miles under my belt as I fell utterly useless, starting by cycling to Tatem tomorrow Evil or Very Mad

Thanks Andy, made me feel better to see that I wasn't the only inadequate person yesterday!

Yeah we will be back with more training and rule!
