A band works as centrifugal force during skating corner.
So you can practice crossover when you wearing shoes.
My friends and I used to use bands for many plyometrics, crossover,
dryland training(forms, body weight transfer with shoes) so on.
Anyway, the tech is same, you use same part of your body with
same forms. Only difference is that you can concentrate each parts and
use more strength for the training in more stable situation.
Any practice can be split like isolation in gym using left leg only in
crossover form for instance, mainly focus on improvig your weak point.
I did every winter from 2003~ 2005 with club team and national team.
The programme was changed by 14 days. Basically it was like, coming to
skate - warming - stretching & yoga - interval (running)- bands and
jumps - skating (but less than 30 min) - cool down - stretching again.
It is hard to explain here. So many thing to do.
I will find fomr photos and post below.

Hey Kim,
Thanks for that. Do you need a partner to do the exerisers or can you get benefit without, say in the gym training by yourself.
Where can you purchase the bands economically. I know Ellis Edge sells techno cords which are supposed to be the best in the market, but they are expensive and as use really need a partner to get full benefit, I never bothered.

Hi, Glenn.
You can do without partner, just using any bar or tree to tie up.
(of course, if you have some1 to help that is fantastic)
About price, you can ask a member of staff if you go to a gym,
normally have a discount with local shops.
Yet, in korea, I nomally go to bike shop and get old tubes for free =P |
