The South Woodham Club have informed me that their race scheduled for this Sunday at Tatem Park has been cancelled due to lack of entries (they had just 10 entries). That's really sad for our sport.
An email confirming this will be sent to the club secretaries tonight. |

Yes, it is a shame, and I had to double check there was one (when Julio mentioned it), as I was sure there was a SWF race not so long ago (which there was - 30/05).
There are 5 events every weekend from the 23/05 in the FISS calendar this year, which might be a contributing factor*. Whilst we are in the racing season, that's probably quite a commitment for people to make.
* Of course, having been involved with the committee last year, I know how difficult it is for a club to plan when to host events, then you multiply that by the number of clubs and rearrange to avoid clashes etc. |
