Does anyone go there? I like spinning, as you dont have to go anywhere to do it, or keep getting out of peoples way.
they do it 6.15pm mon, wed, thurs, & also during daytimes.
does anyone fancy hooking up to go? Im happy to go on my own, but its always nice if someone else is there too. Id like to get fit again. |

| I want to start spinning again but I'm thinking of going to the classes at kensington leasure centre (where gav goes?) 'cos it's my local and the class times are more work friendly. |

I'm easy
I go all over the place, wherever timetable is suitable for the current day. Sometimes Porchester sometimes Kensington. Both are good. Once my leg's recovered I'll start spinning again. |

| I was spinning last night too. 156rpm at just over 30mph. Not my fastest, I've done almost 180rpm before, or 3/second. |

I'd be interested in knowing how your knees feel straight after. I have some small pain in my knee just by commuting sort of slowly. I'm not sure I could do spinning at all. |

I think knee pain is due mostly to poor positioning, be it bike fit or cleat setup, and then due to increasing your mileage/intensity too quickly. I get no knee problems from riding fixed, in fact it's better for me than geared.
A good and experienced fixed rider should be able to pass 200rpm, but I'm of course neither of those. |

I haven't done spinning before .... I went to the gym last night (hopes gav doesn't see this) and ache a little but as it will be wet tomorrow decided on the train to go again tonight (don't think we'll be skating).
I'll sit far away, otherwise I'll get all competitive and come out destroyed |

spinning is really good. it has music, and you basically outsource your training to someone else. thats one of the reasons I dont train, is because Ive no idea really quite what to do etc and cant push myself unless someone is encouraging me, but with spinnig you have a hyperactive at the front talking you through the whole experience.
also, you cant get competitive, so its nice as you just sit there & work for yourself (you cant see what the difficulty dials on other peoples bikes are). |

That doesn't stop you getting competitive though, you just assume their settings are harder than yours. |
