Met check....no rain
BBC....no rain
Leave home at 06:15 to cycle to start....No Rain
Arrive start 06:25.... heavens open
As it turns out whilst the rain lasted until the first scheduled food/drinks stop, and the North Easterly head wind didn't help, it wasn't too cold and it dried out fairly quickly so this was a very enjoyable ride.
By the final stop (note to self, next time limit the number as it just means your already tired leg muscles start slowing down and take a good 5 miles to come back to life!) at 86 miles there was brilliant sunshine and sun block was order of the day
Although not the cheapest ride to enter, there is no doubt at all this is the most organised and well supported event I have encountered yet.
All in all a great day out and best of all after a nice hot bath, my legs were fine, even managed a run up my office stairs today ha ha |
