Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to tag along the people riding from the Mall to Windsor. If you're not going to the Brit Championships in B'ham and fancy coming along, we can meet up at HPC.
The plan is to take a train back, unless a lot of people are riding back, then we'll just go along, it's only 30-35 miles anyway (one-way).

I got back from the Windsor ride earlier this afternoon, it took me 3 hours dead (including 2 stops totalling 30-35 mins in total). I rode along the other fun riders, leaving Buckie Pea at 08h40. In total, I did 53 miles including the 14 miles to get to Central London and back.
The event is really well organised, with 3 water stations along the route, each with water, first aid, and bike doctors (courtesy of Evan Cycles).
The scenery is quite nice too, although much busier with traffic than in Cambs last w/e. At least I made it into Windsor before 12noon and had plenty of time to plan my journey back and get some food.
I got a train back from Windsor Central (one of the 2 railway stations there), and had to change at Slough. There, at lot of other cyclists were waiting already as the station staff were limiting the number of bikes getting onto each train (8-ish...). I stood all the way back by the doors with my bike upright that I was ok. At least I didn't have to wait too long. I eventually reached home around 2:30pm. What a great day!
As a club ride, we could easily do this route at the w/e, it's very easy, the distance is just perfect for what my legs can take atm, only around 4 inclines and 2 nice downhills. Fastest I reached was 36mph.

Ditto, if there's interest among the slower cyclists
