Anyone interested in some morning sprints this Sunday 03.09.06. With Berlin coming up I will probably do some and if others are also interested will arrange a time (say 9.30).

| Hyde Park - if there are only a few of us then we can meet at the beach and skate there; nice and smooth. |

I would strongly recommend you don't do sprints on Serpentine Road at all. It's too dangerous in my opinion, and it is much safer and more appropriate to use South Carriage Drive. Just one serious crash with a pedestrian will probably destroy skating in the park, and will almost certainly kill off the club. Whomever is responsible for such a crash would almost certainly be sued, perhaps the club too, and rightly so.
Plus the speed limit for all vehicles is 15mph, and the horse people have done plenty of complaining already. |

What do you call the south carriage drive ?
about sprints on serpentine if it's not allowed well... nothing much to add.
very early it's usually fine but it's not the question. |

The rough red stuff from Hyde Park Corner, running along the south of Hyde Park.
No, it's not that sprints on the Serpentine are not allowed, it's just that we would easily exceed the speed limit [1] and I'm terrified there will be an accident with someone who will sue the club.
[1] Potentially Hyde Park is one of the few places where you can be booked for exceeding the speed limit, due to the park bye-laws. I'm not certain whether it applies to skates, but I would expect so as it does apply to bicycles. On most roads speed limits apply only to motor vehicles. |
