| Ah, I was just about to post the very same thing. It's Eastbourne Weekend for those of us that have other commitments, it is also London to Cambridge Bike Ride day so now I am torn between three events on the same day. |

I could well be tempted to split my w/end between Eastbourne and London or Birmingham if I can work out the logistics.
I am potentially interested in going to B'ham on the 25th. Anyone else? |

The day started very wet but the track dried very quickly once it stopped raining and we ended up with a cool but breezy day.
How did we fare? Gav had tendon problems. Etienne got a 3rd place in the cat 3s. I got a sore bum from a collision in the 1000m race and we were all elminated on our first races in the intercategory knockout. The knockout is a superb idea with category 5 skaters often beating the category 1s but it often finished quite evenly with both racers close on the line. I think we could use it as a sort of training exercise at Tatem for sprint training now I have had it explained to me how it is calculated. |

But I did beat Ben in my 1500m!
That inter-category knockout was great fun for everyone... even spectating gave us some really good laughs - like Harry Hoare (was it Harry?) up against Chris Stafford... walking up to him in front of everyone watching, pointing his finger at him, and loudly announcing "I'm going to BEAT you". LOL |

| He only lost by a metre and a half. Still Chris dis get beaten by two cat 5s just after that. It was really hard in the closing stages as the races cam very close. That is why I think it could be good training. It is a short sprint and interval rest and the handicapping means you have to race if you are going to win. |

Agreed, definately a good training session... handicaps are exactly because you have to push yourself harder than you normally skate if you want to win over the handicap set against you (or for you if you're the slower one).
Altho its only really good training for those that make it through to the final rounds.
We should get our times on Tatem for a lap, and work out the handicap distances for those that attend so that we can do a set of these. |

| The number of people we get at Tatem training sessions is like being in the final round. |
