Of course, though it was very civilised last night, okay there was a single (mild I hope) stack and a few "interesting timing" moments with a few junctions, but brushes with the law, mad decents and we all waited for each other... (well almost always)

Would have been happy to take any skilled skater out last night, you would have been fine.

Hopefully see you at Spalding if my ribs improve. Thanks for the run out last night.

Hope your all going to be there this weekend for the National Indoor Champs at Spalding.

If any of you are in two minds, why not make the effort to go - you might just see some fast & furious racing especially after last time.

Come on, don't be such a chicken!  (just kidding...)

Actually I think the name is off putting, in actuality to me it seems less risky than skating in a big crowded marathon like Berlin.  "Suicide skate" to me is more about everyone wanting to make it sound scary, it's about as dangerous as you make it, take it more carefully and it's pretty safe, you just get more tired from sprinting to catch people up.

they started a few years ago, on monday nights during the summer for us to go out without any restrictions, like you have in the organised ones. They were kept secret so only a few of us knew about them, so that we didnt have many people coming along. Suicide skate name was given to be offputting I think, and to make sure that only those who could actually look after themselves on the streets considered coming along.

...then I got lazy and stopped going a couple of years ago. But now they are prescribed by Mike so I have to.

No no no, not prescribed by me at all.  It's potentially a hairy skate, attendence is strictly your own decision and your own risk.  That's especially because the required skill level is so high, not just of fitness and fast skating, but of rough surfaces, quick direction changes, downhill speed, and most of all serious amounts of traffic sense that are needed.

I like it for myself since there's lots of fast skating and pushing yourself in competition with other skaters.

Wondering if Bill Begg prescribes the NTWNS?... lol

Shame about the rain y'day, that put me off coming down. That'd have been my 1st NTWNS in absolute AGES... nevermind there's always next wk.

Can't wait for the nice weather to allow me a bit more skating. Bring on Saturday!
