| Hans and I are definitely going. We might be a bit unlucky with the weather, but at the moment it's blue skies all the way to the west. Clouds are moving pretty fast tho so no promises. |

We had a good session at Tatem... the weather held out right until the very end, and then it only drizzled for about 5 min and some of us did a short session after that even. It was even sunny for most of the time we were there!
We focused on 3km intervals in 2 groups. |

Bugger, it was pissing down here on and off all evening. I got well wet on the way into the park, in 20km I went through quite a few showers.
I was so despondent at the weather I even went for a run!!!!! Quentin must be inspiring me or something. |

Good session, would have been better for me if my back worked.
OK, Gav, so further to the conversation on nutrition on the bus back, you were saying that half the post-exercise carbs should be taken in liquid form. Or maybe you were saying something else, and I was misunderstanding.
What's the reasoning here, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
(Previous stuff about nutrition was at http://www.londonspeedskaters.com/forums/Question-for-you-all--t1171.php to save anyone else the trouble of thread mining) |

Great session - thanks for that.
Yea I would be interested in further information about nutrition. I was too tired to take everything Gav was telling us. |

This link...
http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/nutrition/mcmillannutritioncalculator1.htm
describes it pretty well.
On the liquid vs. solids thing, I find it easiest and most beneficial if I ingest the first amounts of carbs via a sports drink as I don't feel like eating immediately after training necessarily, and it's ingested quicker. I would usually drink it during stretching out, that would give me 30-40g of carbs, and then I will have another snack within an hour of training. |

| Good link Gav! Another key to getting a big insulin response is to eat at least some high GI carbs i.e. simple sugars, not slow absorbing stuff. That or inject yourself with insulin, which is illegal doping if you're not a diabetic like me. |
