Hi all,
Hope some of the London lot can help me with this.
I have to take my son to Heathrow on Sat 20th March to catch a plane to Australia, he is traveling as an unaccompanied minor and that means I have to get to the airport at least by 3pm and wait until his flight leaves at 6.15pm.
I am also planning to get there early as I bet his baby sister will want to be fed several times so I need to make time for this.
Basically I am more than likely going to be at the airport for approx 5 hours and the short stay car park costs loads!! - about 17 - 20 quid. The other alternative is to park somewhere and catch a tube in. What I need to know is if this is going to be cheaper and where is the best place to get a tube from.
Any info is much appreciated Thanks in advance... |

Tube it in so long as you can carry all your luggage.
Osterley is the best tube station to park near as there is free parking outside on the A4 or on the side roads nearby. Read the signs to make sure you get the right spaces. It's a direct tube to Heathrow from there. |

Ahhh luggage...
Hmm, may be difficult with a vast suitcase, a baby and all the accompanying stuff....
Might have to bite the bullet and pay the parking charges
Thanks for your reply though

Feltham station runs a bus to Heathrow.
So you could drive there and take the bus? |

| If you've got to be there for so long, just park in the long stay then it's only half the parking price? What's another hour waiting for the bus if you're already there for ages? |

Ahh very good suggestion...
I think I will go with the long stay option, then we don't have to panic about time.
Thanks very much for your suggestions |

Thanks for all the replies about this.
I decided to go down early and park in the long stay (as suggested by lemming ) and this was great as I didn't have to panic about the time then. Bit of a pain getting the pushchair on and off the bus but could have been worse.
Son successfully landed in Oz now and collected by his dad
Won't be such a pain picking him up as time is not such an issue.
Thanks again all. |
