Here's something different for those of you who like to skate on ice. VÉRTEX 24, is a 24 hour team or solo competition taking place between 9-10th of February 2007 in Östersund, Sweden. The competition is divided into two different classes. The Team competition is an open class for all kinds of teams. This means that associations, companies and pals will go for as many laps as possible around the 1000 metres trotting-track, during 24 hours. The teams can use up to twelve participants but only one at the time. Solo competition: One single person is supposed to collect as many laps as possible during 24 hours.
You can find more information here: http://www.vertex.cx/24h2007_eng/index.html
Watch the movie from last year here: http://www.vertex.cx/24h2006/video/vertex24_2006.wmv
Maybe I'll see you there. |

Much smaller than Le Mans, of course. Last season, 23 teams and 7 soloskaters participated. Most of the teams were filled up with people who does not normally skate, so it would be fun to see some really good skaters there this season. |

Can you confirm dates? |

Hello Andyman
I can confirm that the dates are 9:th to 10:th of March. Didn't notice this error myself, thanks for pointing it out. I have sent an email to the organizer about this.
If you are thinking about competing as a solo skater, it is good to know that they will start already at 12 am (midday) on the 9:th. |
