Nick called me this morning (the race director), pretty much as a courtesy call to get in touch. Basically said that unfortunately it won't be possible to fit in the skating this year due to timing. Their entries are increasing and things would just be too tight to fit it in.
A pity, but I wasn't actually expecting it to come through anyway since we never really pushed it going forward from our side.
On another note, some of you might have seen the email from them regarding their new Cycling race.

The Etape Caledonia will break new ground in the UK as the first-ever timed mass participation cycling event on closed roads. With two distances available the event caters for all ability levels:
Challenge Course Distance - 134 km / 83 miles. Total Ascent 2,078m
Intermediate Course Distance - 45 km / 28 miles. Total Ascent 964m

What a pity I won't be around!! Looks like helluva fun. It's the weekend of Sursee. |

| It was a nice route. The surface was a bit questionable though. |

Nah. The surface was excellent. It's what was on the surface that was not so good.  |
