| I have to work this morning - but I hope to be @ HP for 1 and get the benefits of Naomi's instruction. |

Was better than I expected. I was rubbish at it (nothing new there), but did help me push the confort zone ... |

Thanks Naomi, this was great - my own incompetence was smugly mocked by the silent insolence of the little yellow cups , but I can see that perseverance and practice will pay dividends and increase the effectiveness of my heel carving on an outside edge - I almost got my left foot to pivot on a couple of occasions and that felt soo good. But when we went for a straight line skate at the end I felt that even my standard classic stride had been improved. Let's do some more (But I might need a number of remedial classes for the pathetically underachieving) |

I think everyone did pretty well considering. Slalom is very hard and it really pushes your limits, that's why all the more experienced slalomers are such good all round skaters.
I was lucky to have been on one of Naomi's courses before, and to have spent a lot of time in my hockey skates. One of these days I might even catch the bug. |

Hey Noams,
Great session - sorry I didn't get back to you on the forum earlier but I have had my head down this week.
I've often wondered why Slalom skaters are often such fast skaters - notwithstanding that they don't do much speed training technique - and I think I read some Kiwi speed-skating site reference to Bill Begg getting some of his students to slalom as part of their training.
Any way specifically, I thought the session was great for devloping the carve; d shape recovery; stride fluidity and edge contol - I'll definitely be doing more in the future.
