|
|
Does anyone know where I can source a Salomon tool / allen key. Mine is really good and I’ve come to the (late) realisation that it is head and shoulders better than many others for strength and convenient size etc, and I want to squirrel a few spare ones.
They are sold out in CBR, Willies, Proline and Kates.
The Bont ones are too long, does not have the bearing remover bit on the handle and prone to rounding. |

| Somebody needs to make one with a phillips head on the other end for tightening the ratchet receiver screws on Bonts. |

| If you have an existing one, can you not cut it down a bit? |

Thats actually a really good idea. With the powerslide ones the allen key bit comes out and on the other end is a star saped thingy. I'm not sure what it's for but a phillips head would be so much more useful! Ill suggest it to powerslide, you never know... |

Sorry for the late reply guys. I was expecting an email to let me know that people had replied. It was only from casually browsing that I saw this.
Anyway thanks for the reply.
@Phil, is the powerslide one the “normal” 4mm hex? For some reason I thought that it was a special shape (five sided maybe). Actually, from your latest reply, it looks like it’s both.
@RH. You are so right. That would complete all the tools we’ll need for our Bonts.
@Ed. The length was just a by the by as I was listing out my gripes. My main issue is the Bont one seems weaker than the Salomon one. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure its "normal". The cool thing about it is you pull out the allen key bit, flip it round, stick it back into the hangle and it has another weird end, it looks like a star. I can bring one along to the santa skate if you want to have a look. |

| I presume the star is the torx tool used for some axles? (and frame bolts?) |

That is the powerslide bolt head shape, it's also a Torx (I used to be able to remember the size back in the day)
I have a varity of tools, not worked out which is the best one (okay, it's it's the rachet set I had before I started skating, but that one doesn't count.) If you have one that you like alot, but has started to "round" and angle grinder is your friend... |
