www.metrogroup-marathon.de/313.0.html

It's time to register if you want to get in at the cheapest price. 44€.

Price goes up by 6€ on 1st Jan so get entering if you think you are hard enough.

No credit cards here. To entre from abroad you will need to print off the entry form then post it off and transfer the appropriate amount to:
IBAN: DE97 3005 0110 0013 0013 18 BIC: DUSSDEDDXXX

You cannot enter this marathon and the Hannover marathon as they occur on the same day. Hannover needs a German bank account to enter.

We are definitely going to do this one, so if anyone else wants to share bank transfer costs I propose to do the transfer at the end of next week.    I will do the payment and transfer for 32 pounds (44 Euros = 29.8 pounds).

If anyone is interested then they will need to transfer 32 pounds to my bank account beforehand.  PM me for details.

Definitely not doing this one after the licensing trouble last year.
It's a bit far away (and expensive) as well.

I'm registered and have flights with Lufthansa direct to Dusseldorf, out on Saturday, back on Sunday.

Anyone else coming? I also have the details of a much-recommended pasta party that you need to book for on the saturday night. If anyone else wants to book for that I can send you the guys email address.

Kay and me will be there.  We are flying from Mallorca to Cologne on Saturday and Dusseldorf to London (Air Berlin) on Sunday.

Rick's going too.

Can you send me the pasta party details?

If you notive Gavs Half marathon time you may notice that he was leading at half time. He make a break and got about 200m on the front pack and then got overwhelmed a little later. Hasn't yet got over his need to get into the top 10. 11th two weeks running. Two of his team mates came 2nd and 3rd. I got a new PB. Not bad for a slowish marathon. Winning time was 1:12:45. Went off a bit too fast (My first 10k was somewhere between 17 and 18 minutes.  Very Happy ) and blew up in the middle third, still learning. Needed a bit of recovery time and had to skate with the last of the elite ladies who were quite slow. Finished well though. Must have been the Red Bull I necked before  the start Shocked I didn't know how fast I was going until my back told me off.

It was a very hot and dry race. Took a bottle of flat coke round with me. Cheers Marcel Wink

All in all a nice race. Plenty of grip, completely dry (keeps my wet dry ratio at 50/50 not even Gav brought rain to this one) Pitty there weren't more of us there. I hope those of you at Rennes faired well.

What a great day for a race... beautifully sunny and warm, ok maybe a little too much wind tho.

I was really happy, and also really annoyed with my race. Annoyed because I could easily have skated 1min 30 faster and stuck with the front guys, but I missed the break and was too stuffed to bridge the gap once it opened. Happy though cos I won the sprint for the 2nd pack, and cos of what Rick mentioned. I went off the front at about 25km and my teammates blocked the pack and slowed it down, so I was leading the race, solo, for about 1km with a 200m gap on the pack Very Happy  Truly awesome! All the people standing around were so suprised to see this single skater pelting down the road with no one else in sight Smile  Got a lot of cheering!

But then, I was stupid, stupid, stupid and just when I was thinking I should start looking over my shoulder so when they catch up they don't get the jump on me, they came flying past my shoulder and I couldn't get back on them! So annoyed at myself!! But it was almost worth it Smile

Bjorn and Michael did awesomely to come 2nd and 3rd. It was pretty much Experts Race Team against Zepto national team up at the front the whole way!
