EDIT 22nd December: date withdrawn because of clashes with other events - date will be confirmed soon
EDIT 10th Januray: date now confirmed as 6th August.
British Championships confirmed.
Is now booked. It will take place on 6th August. Usual place. Tell everyone you know about it as this definately the last time it will ever be held on this circuit. Should it ever return to Lee Valley the circuit will be different.
The Senior Women and the Veterans Men and Women races will be full marathons this year. |

Uh, very bad timing... the date clashes with the German long distance championship in Prezelle, so there will be even less chance to see any fast German skaters this year.
I'll need to debate with me and Michi as well... What opposed the original date, July 16th? |

The original date was June 18th.
Damn - that's a pity about Prezelle... I quite wanted to do that. Last year that was the German double marathon championships. Is it this year as well Merten? |

Gav: Yes it is. Long distance 84km I haven't done it yet but also wanted to this year - it is apparently very well organized and fast. Ah: Note that July 23rd is a preliminary date for Prezelle and has not yet been officially announced, but it took place that weekend in the last three years and is already listed on some 3rd party websites.
The LIM date also conflicts with at least a half marathon in Bremerhaven, but that's not really a global issue, because apart from Michi and me nobody going there would go to London anyway. |

| That conflict is a bit of a bummer, but I think we gain more skaters over all from the le Mans racers who will be more keen to do some racing after their fun in France. |

Tim: Yes 84km flat So a good alternative to the OneEleven for all the downhill cowards as me...
This seems to interest a couple more people, so I'll post it public as soon as I know a definite date. |

cheer's merten, yeah doing 111kms downhill is not my idea of a good time either !! I would certainly be up for 84km's on the flat though.
I look forward to seeing your post. |

LIM still on the good old Lee Valley circuit, that's great! I'll be there!
Monique (2005 womens full marathon winner) is planning to come and defend her title. Anne-Jelmer (forum member here, very nice guy, and a strong skater) wants to come, and I'll do my best to get other dutch skaters interested.
Cheers,
Andy. |

You shouldn't lie, greazert.
Not so nice if we're competing or if someone is handing out 'free' newspapers.
But I am pretty sure that I will take part in the LIM. |

Well yes... AJ turns into a monster when competing or if someone is handing out 'free' newspapers, it's true...
"10 time A2A man" John Thomas (his real name, honest!) might come over from the USA to do the 2006 LIM. |

| Any chance of making the full marathon a British Champs race for the over 35s? It seems silly for the half marathon to be the British Champs race, but not the full marathon. What about the women? |

| Actually this was one of the rule changes that FISS has approved for the next year. When the actual rule book comes out we would've highlighted this, but basically all championship marathons from Junior age group and upwards are now full marathons. |

OK I've now official confirmation that Prezelle has been set to July 23rd. This will greatly limit chances for any German skaters to take part in the LIM.
Any chance the LIM could still be moved to another weekend, maybe in August? This would enable some fast German skaters to take part and I'm happy to promote the event over here as far as possible. |
