Now has a name and website. The North Region Marathon. Brrr, sounds cold.
I have updated the events calendar to reflect it.
So who's going then? Since it's near Blackpool it could be "northern chav central."
recommend pooling up for transport and staying over in the area somewhere. Accommodation page is a "soon." Could even rent a minibus for the weekend.
Reg form has wrong prices for the half at the moment but none of us are interested in that are we?
Just as a matter of interest I wonder if it's worth looking into train costs? I suspect it would be more expensive than flying to Berlin. |

The course is a 1 mile cycling circuit used by the BCF (British Cycling Federation) a lot.
Apparently smooth and good. 1 slight hill, and a few turns |

I'd definitely like to go to this! My mum lives in Settle, N Yorks - not too far away - so I could combine it with a long weekend visit. I may be able to offer a lift back to up to five people, which is probably not much use, unless you find a cheap 1 way ticket there!
PS ...its great up North!... |

Hi all,
The website will be updated as soon as i am back from Portugal on March 1st.
We are trying to sort out cheaper rates for accomadation near the venue.
You can enter by phoning the number on the form.
The course is excellent, very fast, flat and smooth.
Chip Timing is being sorted it as we speak.
We was thinking of a Roller Stroll down Blackpool Prom on the Saturday for all those willing. This wont be an organised event, more of a fun skate.
Something to do on the Saturday night. try and end up at the pleasure beach or something like that.
Soon as i know more, i will post it on the forums and updates the website, prices will have three stages of price rises.

Preston Arena track is really fast. I skated on it a lot last year. There are no hills, just a little bump over a tunnel into the central arena.
There are 2 quick turns in the first quarter of circuit, and one 200m into the finish. It's a super new facility- You'll like it !
Tip would be to bring a team tent for shelter as there is no "Club House" like at Lee valley. You can pitch it trackside, there is a long grassy bank.
But of course it never rains here |
