Is anyone training central-ish on saturday morning (7th)? I have to be somewhere for 1015 so was thinking of doing some sprints or something before hand on the horrible red stuff?
I guess everyone will be at richmond. |
This Saturday is the 09th. And a lot of people will be doing Sebby's course.
Did you change your calendar to September at all? |

yeah, most of the time I don't know what day it is, but I write my name and address on my hand so I remember. |

FRI - Tatem
SAT & SUN the alternative programme to S.B.s Course, i.e. power shopping in the mornings and most likely Lee Valley Cycle Circuit in the afternoons (if I don't move up the waiting list any further Cool ) |
Tatem .... never again alone .... got my backpack (including car keys) nicked by some bored school kids ...
Training was cut a little short by that and my weekend schedule is now : police, organize car "revival". |

I am so gutted for you. When I got to Tatem on Tues early I was really worried about my bag and ended up with it in the middle of the track so I could keep an eye on it.
Did you get a good look them? Thinking they must be local, although I guess that is small consolation unless it results in the police catching them, in which case they could be around the park in the future.
Another thought, these sort of things normally end up with the kids taking what they want and dumping the bag nearby. If you want someone to come back with you to have a good look around, I will certainly volunteer. Never know something might turn upb |

| That's so awful Janina, I've often skated there alone but so far I've been lucky and not had anything taken. Good luck in sorting your car key out. |

Well, on Monday, the car keys shall be replaced and the electronic "signature" changed , so that even if I come back, they won't be able to take my car away.
They have thrown the backpack away after about 250m, Maltese currency after 275m and the wallet sometime later. It was found with all cards still in, but lamentably 10 minutes after I had cancelled them .... so I'll have new PINs to learn
We have combed the park, but didn't find the car key.
And a definite advice to everyone, keep keys and everything important directly with you. For my part that will mean taking small plastic bags and having these items in the back pockets of the shirt.
My problem is also, that I might not even be able to identify them. I guess the witness I have would do a much better job. I don't know if there are any CCTV cameras at Tatem Park, but if there are, the film could be shown at the school those kids were from (they definitely wore school uniform and by talking to some people the colours already excluded one or two schools in the area) ... that might lead to something. That guy witnessing the incident and the people living across the street, who I had to ask if I could use their phones to call the police, the insurance and organise the recovery of the car have been very nice and helpful.
I'm not counting on seeing the key again, although that would ease my worries quite a bit. |

I finished my weeks training with 13 laps of Eastway on saturday.
I met up with a cycling club there and they were discussing what they plan to do when Eastway closes. They invited me to join them on some runs on the road - they even think they might have a bike I can borrow. |

I want to come, too, but I won't bring my bike .... cause "hunting" cyclists is sooooo much fun |

yes it was fun overtaking some cyclists - some were a little speedier though. I think I fancy the occasional bike outing but as they say "two wheels good, eight wheels better" |
