| Richmond Park is about a ten minute skate up the hill from Richmond station. The problem is that unless someone's got a car, there's nowhere to keep shoes/clothing/recovery drinks/other paraphernalia. |

| I'm very tempted by RP on Sat. (and could drive over) but THAT downhill sort of scare me. I just know I'm gonna fall. If weather's good enough, what time you normally meet for? |

might fancy a few laps at hillingdon. I will be going to do maybe one or two hard laps but mainly just go and visit and laugh at dan (the grimace of pain look) |
Give me a lift there and back and you can laugh all you like |
I would have but based on Ricks advice doesn't look like Hillingdons an option... I don't want to really go to Richmond!!

| According to my info Hillingdon is not available on Saturday afternoon either, as its been booked for a 4 hour roller-ski race. Its roller sport, but not as we know it. |

so you might go richmond Christophe? that would be cool.
If you go, then Mike and I will go, and if you dont, we'll go for a bike ride in Kent instead. |

Maybe. I've just had a quick lookup about tomorrow's weather and it looks dry-ish until 12-noon/1pm. What time would you want to meet up?
The rest of the w/end looks pretty much rained off unfortunately. They might be wrong though, as often happens.
Please post here tonight so I know whether to go or not. |

Christophe I fancy coming to RP tomorrow morning (subject to weather!)
I will be catching train to Richmond if I can get a lift from there or will skate from Barnes station if you confirm where you will be parking (the car drivers normally park at Roehampton Gate in the car park near the cafe and golf course on the far right of this map)
Can you confirm either time you can pick me up at Richmond station or time you will arrive at Roehampton Car Park?
I will text you if I call off for any reason in the morning
CANCEL THIS - I have just looked at three seperate weather forecasts for the morning and ALL suggest it will be wet in the morning BUT sunny in the afternoon. On the basis of this I have decided to stay in bed |

| I've lost the evening sorting out my pc, so unfortunately I'll have to cancel RP tomorrow. Will keep monitoring weather. Looks very wet and windy ahead of us. Grrrr... maybe I'll go swimming for a change. |

Too wet for my liking too. I'm not motivated enough to train in the rain at the moment, so I'll be going for a run when skating is off due to the weather.
Did 5km yesterday, and I'm starting to remember how much I used to love running. The downside to this speedskating lark is that my arse is now so big that it jiggles when I run. |

Peter C and I went to Richmond - it was great! I really enjoyed myself. It was actually raining when we arrived, but stopped when we were actually skating. grip issues for a section of the loop that we did meant that we had to focus on a nice powerful setdown & stuff like that, but other than that, it was kind of normal.
And we got to chill out & eat chocolate & mississippi mud pie afterwards in the sun on the picnic tables outside the cafe!
we just kept repeating a small loop with very little traffic, so we could avoid both the traffic and the downhill.
I also this afternoon did a video review in the wet with Mike - I was horrified. Does everyone get that when they see themselves skating? I didnt realise I looked like such a twat when skating. |
