Wow, I'm bumming about the rain. Go figure, I got rained out in London. No worries. Just like Chicago, if you don't like the weather, just wait 20 minutes. Anyway, probably will hit Hyde Park in the morning. My sister and I are planning to hire bikes and ride (I might skate) Critical Mass tomorrow evening... if the weather cooperates. I've always enjoyed CM in Chicago.

Saturday I think we're headed down to wander around Brighton and then to Goodwood by rail on Sunday morning. If I don't get a chance to meet up with anyone before then, I hope to meet a lot of you on Sunday at the race.
Take care,
kevin

CM in London was walking-pace last time I tried it, but that was a couple of years ago - Mike's been on it more recently. If it's not got faster, you might still enjoy it as an opportunity to practise people slalom.
If you get bored after an hour or so, you could come and try the LFNS ;-) London's fastest marshalled street skate[1][2]
[1] not that that's saying much if you're a speed skater
[2] and in any case only if you stick at the front on the second half - it's a fair bit tamer in the middle |

| Yeah, CM is a walkabout still. Good for practicing my trackstands I think. (Aunty Charlotte has ordered me to bring my fixie, not my skates). |

I still went to Tatem in the end. It was very wet and slippery but still skatable. Did some 1500's and then a 15 minute skate. I don't mind skating in the wet because I already know from experience that races are rarely called off with rain. But now I have to clean all my bareings .
P.S. Garan, I still have your skate tool, was hoping to see you at Tatem today. Did you leave early or chicken out? |

| I left Dagenham in perfect sunshine at 5:50 - drove through torrential rain in Walthamstow still raining when I got to tatem at 6:20 - inspected the track- found that it was wet but probably skatable but decided against it as no-one else had arrived by 6:30 - went back to Dagenham which was still bathed in the light and heat of the setting Sun - went for an 11.5 km skate round Old Dagenham Park - working up quite a sweat |
