LSST had 3 teams competing at RAPS24 this year, and had 50% representation on the remaining London team at the event. We were all made to feel very welcome by our Dutch hosts.
Another great team effort from everyone which showed in the fantastic results.
Our fastest team took an early lead and tussled with the eventual winners for a good long stint which secured them 2nd place. Our other 2 teams worked together throughout to finish in joint 7th place.
Members of the 2nd place team were Dan Barlow, Tanya Gibson, Ed Gwiazda, Richard Holgate, Glenn Quadros and Marcus Raven.....and not least their trusty pitcrew - Annabelle Barlow.

Not just 1 trophy is London bound this year but two!!
George Puttner and Richard Holgate put in strong performances throughout to finish in 2nd place in the duo category while our 5-man endurance team had a very exciting and tactical finish to overtake a team for 3rd place in the closing hours of the race. This team was made up of 2 of the club's coaches, Adrian Wordsworth and Fred Houinato, accompanied by Garan Jenkin, Errol Spence and Matt Cardell-Williams.
As ever, a great team effort was put in all round, including by our other teams and by our members skating for other teams. ....and of course we couldn't have done this without our trusty crew - pitcrew, team masseuse and equipment transporter (OK, driver)

BRITISH INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 |
|
|
|

|
Well done to Harry and Rio at last weekend's British Indoor Championships.
Harry took silver in the 100m Time Trial and 500m, but unfortunately crashed in the 1500m. This is an impressive result when you consider Harry is racing in Senior Mens (he's chosen to skate up an age group rather than compete in Juniors).
Rio took gold in all 3 of his races, having to race alone due to lack of entries. He was awarded golds by the officials who deemed he'd put sufficient effort in to take the top position.
We look forward to reporting on more great achievements from our club members in the coming season.
